We never turn away students from eating. Any student over the charge limit (see below) is offered an alternate meal. Negative balance letters are sent home with students (PreK-5) weekly. If you receive a call or letter and feel there is a mistake please call 662-840-1857 or 662-840-1840 and we will be happy to try to resolve the issue.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION – FOR PARENTS
CHARGE PROCEDURES FOR 2016-17
Students in grades 6-12 have a $5.00 charge limit. After this limit has been reached the student will be offered an alternate plate for a charge of $1.25. (vegetarian chef salad plate with juice or ham and cheese wrap plate with juice). Students in grades 6-12 will be given a verbal notice at the time of the charge and be required to sign a form. Parents will be e-mail and called to be reminded of charges.
Students in grades PK-5 have a $25.00 charge limit. After a child’s account has reached a charged balance of $25.00, the child’s parent/guardian is contacted to make him/her aware that the charge limit has been reached. Parents/Guardians are contacted directly by phone or email with confirmation. After parents/guardians are contacted, the child will begin to receive a choice of alternate meal, . The child’s choice of alternate meal is served until the parent/guardian pays the negative balance in full. The balance may be paid at the cafeteria, School Nutrition Office at Fillmore Center or by payment into a child’s account through use of myschoolbucks.com account. Parents/Guardians may send a lunch with their child to prevent further charges to their child’s account until the charge balance can be paid in full and to prevent alternate meals from being served to your child.
Parents/Guardians may apply for meal benefits by completing a meal application at any time during the school year. The School Nutrition Office is also glad to help any family with completing their meal application by call or by stopping by the School Nutrition Office at the Fillmore Center. Meal applications are also available to complete on line at schoollunchapp.com and by selecting Tupelo at the drop down box. Meal charge account balances are still required to be paid in full when a meal application is approved for benefits as required by USDA federal program regulations.

TPSD School Nutrition Department would like to thank you for your child’s participation in the school meal programs. Your child’s account history is available to be emailed or mailed to you upon request, or you may come by the School Nutrition Office at Fillmore Center to receive a copy of the account history. You may also sign up for an account at myschoolbucks.com and view your child’s account history on line at no charge. You may call us for assistance with the information you will need for an account with myschoolbucks.com. which is your child’s birth date and child’s school ID number.
Printed prepayment envelopes are available for your convenience and return of your payment to the school cafeteria. Please call the cafeteria manager at your school site or the School Nutrition Office if you have questions about any prepayments you have made to your child’s account.
